Advice to my younger self
What I wish someone had told me the day I first sat down to memorise. A short letter to every beginner.
You will underestimate the years and overestimate the weeks. Be patient with the years. Be honest with the weeks.
Do not compare your recitation to anyone else's. Compare it only to your own, six months ago.
The Book will give you more than you give it. But it will only give what it is asked for, and it will only stay with the one who returns to it.
Keep the small daily portion, even when you are travelling, even when you are tired, even when you feel far. Especially then.
